Professor of Social and Environmental Psychology at the University of A Coruña (UDC).

Accredited nationally as a University Professor. He directed the Person-Ambient Research Group of the UDC in the period 1995-2016. In 2016 he was appointed Visiting Professor of the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Bath, United Kingdom, for the period 2016-2018. He is also President of the International Association for People-Environment Studies (2014-2018).

Nowadays, he is a deputy in the Congress for the province of A Coruña (Legislatures XI and XII), where he is the spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Commission for the Study of Climate Change.
