Montse Escruela holds a diploma in Advanced Dietetics from the Heinry Poincaré University of Nancy (France) and a diploma in Dietetics and Human Nutrition from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She also holds a Master’s degree in Public Health for developing countries from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a diploma in Food Security and Nutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean from the University of Medellin (Colombia).

She began her professional career working in various hospitals in Catalonia and, after 10 years, she joined the NGO Action Against Hunger to be responsible for its nutritional programs in different countries in Latin America and West Africa. In 2005 she began working as a consultant for the United Nations within the World Food Program in Africa, with the Pan American Health Organization in Haiti and with UNICEF in the West Africa regional office. For five years since 2011, she was part of the Action Against Hunger emergency team as coordinator in Health and Nutrition, participating in various humanitarian emergencies. Since 2017, she has been referent in nutrition for Médecins Sans Frontières, an organization which she has been working with in countries such as Niger, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, India, Yemen, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Iraq.

PhD in Education from the University of São Paulo (2005), and Post-Doctorate from the University of Lisbon – Portugal (2011).

Associate Doctor Professor – Department of Education, Psychology area – IB – UNESP – Rio Claro and the Postgraduate Program in School Education and Sexual Education, in the line: “Culture, Subjectivity and Sexuality” – Faculty of Sciences and Letters of Araraquara – UNESP/SP. She was coordinator of the Pedagogy Course, UNESP Rio Claro/SP.

He has experience in Human Rights Education, with an emphasis on Sexuality, Gender, Violence and Sexuality Education, working mainly on the following research topics: Inclusive Education, Human Rights Education, Refuge, Sexuality, Gender, Sexuality, and Gender Education. . Research Public Policies for the Training of Education Teachers in Sexuality and Gender Relations, and Human Rights.

He participated in the Advisory Committee of Specialists in Special Education and Differentiated Assistance in Exams and Assessments of Basic Education of INEP (2015-2017 – PT government). She was the Coordinator of Gender, Diversity at School – GDE (09/10/2008 – PT Government). He participated in the evaluation committee of the GDE + 5 throughout Brazil (CLAM/UERJ, MEC/SECAD – PT Government). He was part of the coordination and organization of the WebEducaçãoSexual.com project (Portugal/Brazil).

She is coordinator of the Research Group GSESXs – UNESP/Rio Claro/SP and is a researcher in the Research Groups: NUSEX – FCLar – UNESP -Araraquara/SP and GEISEXT – Institute of Education – University of Lisbon – PT.

She is the coordinator of the ACAMPA pela Paz e o Direito a Refúgio – Brazil.
