Esteban Beltrán

He is director of Amnesty International Spain since June 1997, and he is responsible for coordinating Madrid Central Headquarters.

He lived in several countries of Latin America in the 90 (Argentina, Ecuador, Costa Rica…) where he worked as international consultant for Amnesty International development.

He lived in London and he worked in the International Section of the organization where he had different positions from 1992 to 1996. He was responsible for coordinating Amnesty International development in Latin America and the Caribbean from 1992 to 1993. He was Director of the International Section from 1994 to 1995, the highest position in the organization.

He worked as investigator of human rights violations in Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama until June 1997. His work involved the documentation and investigation of human rights violations in these countries and design que lobby work of government. During the last years he performed several investigations for Amnesty International in Mexico, Argentina and Colombia, gathering proofs on the ground and talking to their respective governments. He is author of several books, some of them: “Guatemala: ¿hasta cuándo la impunidad?, “Panamá: el derecho a escapar de la muerte”.

He holds a degree in Development Studies by Birbeck College from London University, from 1993 to 1995. He also works as assistant lecturer in Human Rights and Cooperation Master´s Degree from Granada University and Pais Vasco University; Caring Action in Europe Master Degree from Carlos III University; Conflict Solving Master Degree from Open University of Catalonia and Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Aid Master Degree from Comillas University.

Fatima Mbengue

She is a young Senegalese activist, born on August 9, 1987 in Dakar, more precisely in the popular district of MEDINA. An only child, she did all her primary schooling at Anne-Marie Javoueh. Her secondary schooling took place between Lamine Gueye and Delafosse, where she obtained her baccalaureate in 2009.

After her baccalaureate, she joined the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication (ISSIC), where she obtained her Master’s degree in Social Marketing in 2015.

She started her professional career in 2016 with the Senegalese Association for Family Welfare (ASBEF) as a Reproductive Health program manager.

She is a committed activist for human rights, Pan-Africanism, the fight against imperialism in Africa. Fatima has participated in numerous civil society movements, including Y’en a marre (We are fed up), No to the European Union Trade Agreements, member of CADMT (Committee for the Abolition of Illegitimate Debt).

She is currently a member of FRAPP (Front for a Popular and Pan-African Anti-Imperialist Revolution), one of the most active organizations in West Africa in the struggle for human rights, food sovereignty and the plundering of resources on the African continent.

Fatima is currently one of the most prominent figures of FRAPP, involved in many fronts: the struggle for the rights of prisoners in prisons, for patients’ rights in Senegalese hospitals, etc.

Teba Chacón

Journalist linked to the radio for more than 20 years. She began her radio career at the radio station of the University of A Coruña, CUAC FM.

In 2001, the media became her profession when she joined Los 40 Principales. She has presented the local edition of the programme “A Vivir” of La Ser radio station, worked as an entertainer on Carrusel Deportivo Coruña and she is currently co-presenter of Hoy por Hoy A Coruña, which fills the mornings from Monday to Friday on Radio Coruña.
